Green Buildings are bridging the gap between cost-effective electricity and technology

Standard Bank Facility ImageThere is a trend among multinational and large companies of shifting towards more sustainable alternatives to save and preserve electricity while saving money too.

Barloworld Power continues to be an instrumental force in energy conservation; the company has installed and supplied a gas generator at Standard Bank’s new 5 - star green building in Rosebank, Johannesburg.

The use of gas generators decreases the building’s power supply, while electricity from the main power utility source has been proven to be an expensive alternative. An eco-friendly, sustainable energy source such as a gas generator also has minimal carbon dioxide gas emissions. The building’s set thermal energy can be recovered and used for the bank’s use of hot water and air conditioning requirements.

Barloworld’s proposed use of a gas generator will supply one fifth of the bank’s electric power demand and will contribute towards reducing costs and saving the company loads of money, while opting for an initiative that increases energy efficiency.
